Who the hell said youtube was just gonna let anybody get that power?
Nobody thats who.
You really think that youtube wouldn't be actively checking up on their heroes, making sure they're making valid contributions and not just spamming what they hate.
And if someone does abuse mass flagging, you don't think google will try and make sure what they flagged was valid and not shit?
But nah lets just always jump to how SJWs ruin everything and how everything youtube does is a bad thing.
Its not a perfect company by any means but people on this site really don't seem to think things though at all and just cherry pick things they don't like.
This is literally a weapon for thought police… Google has been told about their crappy flagging system and they have done nothing about it… this has only made it worse…

Almost every menial task Youtube does is done by bots. And their bots aren't of the highest quality. Every video that's flagged is oversaw by a bot, but due to how there's such a massive backup of flagged videos due to false-flaggings, the process is very slow to get it validated again.
Youtube should be promoting people actually taking time to look at videos to see if they disobey the rules, not flagging hundreds at once.
I mean even the term "mass-flagging" (the term Youtube used themselves) just reeks of "oh this guy made one video about a bad topic, all of his other videos are probably the same then. click click click"
Honestly I think this system would be vastly improved if Youtube just got rid of that feature. I mean who really needs that besides people who want to use it against channels they hate? There already is a report system (and a more accurate one than any "mass-flagging" system ever will be, and that's sad) that people use.

Did someone say thought police?
YouTube responded to the controversy on their official blog
Personally I haven't read it myself, but I wanna know what you guys think after reading it

I read it that has to be the most retarded i ever read there more cons to this program than pros. also to quote the user Shaun Joy he described this perfectly.
"With the abuses of the system that have taken place against creators such as I Hate Everything, myself, and other creators out there, how can you continue to not look at the core of the issue: when channels get hit unfairly and deal with those cases (despite your "expert review" staff), and why do channels who DO violate the community guidelines and have proven it time and time again, like CJSOCOOL and RichKidsTV (metadata manipulation, false tags) always seem to get by."
"Not only does YT need to communicate these changes better, but you need to ASK YOUR CREATORS how they feel about this, so they can give you guidance before you really ruin a lot of good creators livelihood. It's obvious that a lot of people are pissed off, and rightfully so, because this is once again causing mass panic because we know how the system has been abused (and in several cases not properly implemented) in the past."
"Growing our Trusted Flagger program into YouTube Heroes"
"Trusted Flagger program"
"Trusted"
The blog title is one of the biggest lies I have ever seen anyone tell EVER!
"When a flag is received, the reported content is always reviewed by YouTube before being removed. We have internal teams from around the world who carefully evaluate reports 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year, and these teams remove content that violates our policies or are careful to leave content up if it hasn’t crossed the line."
Never mind, that is.
I can't. My tolerance for bullshit is too thin.

It all seemed very shady to me.
For one, the whole thing about teams reviewing flagged videos is obvious bullshit.
As well, the talk about the "trusted flaggers" had me thinking about something:
"Are they responsible for past fuckups with the flagging system?"
They were given the mass-flag ability and even an ability that let them flag multiple videos at once.
All I gleamed from this is they tried making this new system sound as good as possible, but those with even an ounce of knowledge of what Youtube really is like will know this is all obvious bullshit.
Edit: Looking through all the Google+ accounts of those supporting this system, I realized that almost all of them are either Google or Youtube Support staff, while everyone else who doesn't act like a lobotomized minion of Google and Youtube decrying this new change.

Yeah, moderation and selection of candidates doesn't help the situation much. It still allows for the previously aforementioned concerns of massive abuse.
Also, those teams they claim they have: Are they just a dozen folks and a capybara with computers and a connection? Because I'm pretty sure they don't have the manpower supposedly dedicated to moderation and flagging claims as the article implies they have. (Not saying it's impossible but past actions have not helped their case.)

I hope this shit blows up in their face like a mofo as YouTube Heros is what happens when you take an already flawed flagging system just to make it even worse by enabling the trolls to flag multiple videos at once.
There are already people submitting false reports against various videos on the site just to be an ass so this will make things worse.
TL;DR: Google fucked up big time with their flawed flagging system.
HEY, heres a bright fucking idea. Why not let us assign continuity members to moderate our comments like reddit or facebook? Or hey how about I don't want some dip shit asshole retard "hero" who ive never met telling ME what is and isn't ok to post in my MY comment section.
Its like Youtube gives us no options. I already have to deal with your dumb ass spam system that makes no fucking sense. People leaving perfectly normal comments or asking questions id like to answer get marked as spam and they probably think im deleting or ignoring them which pisses me off because now I have to waste my time checking the spam section every few days approving comments.
THANKS FOR NOT GIVING ME AN OPTION TO ADJUST WHAT THE BOT TARGETS AS SPAM OR EVEN TURN IT OFF.
(Looks like spam to me)
Now were going to have to deal with these hall monitors buzzing around in everyone's comment section. GREAT!

"Our Trusted Flaggers’ results around flagging content that violates our Community Guidelines speak for themselves: their reports are accurate over 90% of the time. This is three times more accurate than the average flagger."
Lying is a bad habit, you know?

you can enlist mods for your channel?
I mean it would be good if you couldn't go all Amy's Baking Company on your videos.
So folks, if you haven't noticed already, YouTube subtly altered the promotional video.
See for yourself.
I couldn't find a re-upload of the original. Fortunately, it has been used in other videos. (Might need to look to other sites considering the situation.)

This one has added (satirical) content but is mostly unaltered.
Make of this what you will.
(Nice try, Youtube/Google, but you failed your stealth check.)
@A-Train that's just shady as shit, and it's not the wording of the video that's got people worried, it's the mass flagging shit that's still there. Hey Google, before you expand your flagger program, maybe you should fucking fix it first?! The people running Google have got to be the least self-aware people on the internet, I'm 99% sure they just don't give a shit.

No im saying you should be able to.
It just makes more sense.

>Still keeps teh mass flag system implying they still think its ok
You know I'm starting to get depressed by this.
No matter how much we complain, Youtube's going to effectively force this upon us like they do fucking everything else that's fucked up the site.
We might as well just prepare for the future moderators and how we'll deal with them, because I don't think we'll stop this system.
To bring up a few big questions,
Why give the authority of flagging content to the people in the comment section?
Why give the ability to be a moderator to people who will abuse said powers?
Why create such a messed up program when you can't fix your copyright system?
Why create said system when you can't shut down channels for uploading sexual content?
Why create said system and shut down channels randomly?
Why shut down a channel for a few days/hours like Team Four Star and I Hate Everything, yet keep a channel run by Keemstar?
Finally, What have you been taking to think that making the community the Judge, Prosecutor and Executioner and not fix any of those problems?
This year for Youtube as a whole was just terrible.
The quoted post has been deleted.
Not really, I long for the days when layout changes were the worst thing we had to worry about with Youtube.
Even Pewdiepie's getting in on poking fun at YouTube Heroes.
It just got scarier.
Welp it sbeen about half a week right? Everyones already forgotten about it sadly.
It will most likely role out without anyone noticing
Nah, still a shitstorm because of the pewdiepie vid, also its going to make another one when it rolls out
(when, not if, not when because thats how YT rolls)

Sorry for being late to this "party".
Anyways. Am I on Youtube, or Flipnote Studio? As they seem to want to promote false-reporting. Which is what the immature userbase on Flipnote Studio did due to the lack of real people behind moderation.
What makes this incredibly painful to watch is it's like a watching a train wreck in slow motion. You want to try your best to stop it from happening, but in the end you can only watch as many people die in the resulting crash.
Oh dear god, what happened to my post
SIIVAGUNNER JUST MADE A VIDEO ABOUT YOUTUBE HEROES

For future record, contact a forum mod if you multi post and can't delete them.
It probably happened because you clicked the post button multiple times. KYM doesn't handle that well, in general.
