On March 4th, 2023, YouTube[1] user Crusher 21 uploaded a Clash Royale stream video titled "I Beat Clash Royale Only Using Win Conditions." In the video around 1:45, he goes through some microtransactions in the game's store and discovers a package item with the character Hog Rider and other items for only two pounds. In shock, he cries "300 black men for only 2 pounds?!" The video received more than 2 million views in 11 months (shown below).

The clip became a popular source of memes related to the 16th-18th century slave trade. For example April 19th, 2023, YouTube[2] user DroopyDelta uploaded a low-resolution video of the clip, receiving more than 1 million views in ten months (shown below, left). On May 4th, 2023, YouTube[3] user zSmor uploaded a similar clip with lower resolution, receiving more than 2.4 million views in nine months (shown below, right).

On May 2nd, 2023, YouTube[4] user HomieAppleTree uploaded an edit comparing the moment to what a slave trader might say, receiving more than 1.3 million views in nine months (shown below, left).
