A Toofpick Changes Everythang or A Toothpick Changes Everything is a meme inspired by a Facebook post by former NFL footballer Anthony Adams, aka "Spice Adams." The meme shows two side-by-side images of Adams, with one photo showing a freshly groomed Adams with a toothpick in his mouth. The caption on the video reads, "A toofpick changes everything." The image was first posted to Adams' Facebook in February 2019, with subsequent reposts using the image as an exploitable or reaction meme.

Origin

On February 22nd, 2019, Anthony Adams posted an image to his Facebook[1] page "Spice Adams," showing a side-by-side comparison of his face. The image on the right showed Adams with a fresh trim and a toothpick in his mouth, the caption above the images reading, "A toofpick changes everythang." The post gathered over 20,000 reactions in five years (seen below).

On May 24th, 2019, Adams posted a sketch illustrating his idea about a "toofpick" changing "everythang" to his YouTube[2] channel, gathering over 2 million views on a video titled, "A Toofpick Changes Everything."



The image was reposted to X on July 6th, 2021, by X[3] user @MorsGames, who gathered over 24,000 likes on an image captioned, "Nintendo Switch (OLED Model)." On January 6th, 2023, Redditor[4] /u/EpicBobb posted a version of the meme edited to show streamer Jerma, gathering over 3,000 upvotes in /r/jerma985 in roughly a year (seen below, left).

On January 11th, 2023, an unknown Redditor posted a version of the meme to the subreddit /r/SmashBrosUltimate,[5] gathering over 3,000 upvotes in a year (seen below, right).

On December 12th, Redditor /u/Shrabidy posted a version of the meme to /r/linguisticshumor,[6] gathering over 300 upvotes in six months (seen below, left).
