About

The A-Train Cult is a TikTok cult where members change their profile picture to an image of A-Train from The Boys and follow one another. Members are also required not to have had a Valentine's Day date for 2023. The cult became popular on TikTok in February 2023 and inspired the Vought International Instagram page, a promotional page for The Boys, to join in that month on Valentine's Day, as well as the official Slim Jim TikTok account.

Origin

On February 12th, 2023, TikToker^[1] @darswish posted a video showing a photo of A-Train looking at the camera, captioned, "apparently people with this pfp don't have a valentine on Valentine's Day," garnering over 1.9 million views in four days (shown below). This is seemingly the video to start the cult. The user also changed their profile picture to the shown image of A-Train (see 'Cult Profile Picture').

As more members joined the A-Train cult, they began promoting it on TikTok to gain new members. On February 13th, the founder of the cult @darswish posted a video to TikTok^[2] claiming the cult has over 2 million members, gaining over 200,000 views in three days (shown below, left). On the same day, TikToker^[3] @noahglenncarter posted a video about the cult, garnering over a million views in the same span of time (shown below, right).

On February 14th, TikToker^[4] @darswish posted a video revealing that the voughtintl Instagram page, a promotional The Boys page, changed their profile picture for the day, also sharing that A-Train's actor Jessie T. Usher shared the cult on his Instagram Story and that the @slimjim TikTok page joined the cult (shown below). Although the cult was started for Valentine's Day, @darswish intends to keep it going beyond Valentine's Day and has continued to promote it.^[5]
