Origin

On January 4th, 2025, X^[1] user @laineluvss posted a humorous public service announcement warning against opening an email titled "yaoi pictures of inhun" (a ship between Squid Game characters Seong Gi-Hun and Hwang In-Ho). The message warned that the email contained a virus that replaced all spaces with the Loudly Crying Face Emoji 😭. Humorously, all spaces in the post were replaced with the emoji, implying that @laineluvss fell for the trick.

The post (shown below) received over 4,600 reposts and 57,000 likes in two months.

Spread

On January 5th, 2024, X^[2] user @officerNolan_M posted the earliest discovered derivative version of the copypasta, a joke about a virus being spread as an email of the uncensored Caitvi sex scene from Arcane. The post (shown below) garnered over 160 reposts and 2,000 likes in two months.

The copypasta saw limited spread on X / Twitter in January and February 2025. On March 3rd, 2025, X^[3] user @Kuinasbabygirl posted a Bungo Stray Dogs version that received over 740 reposts and 4,000 likes in 10 days (shown below).

The copypasta achieved virality on X / Twitter in early March 2025, with users often replying with posts in which they build up on the copypasta by replacing spaces with the 😭 emoji.
