Aaron the Plumber, real name Aaron Sloan, is a social media personality who went viral after appearing in a June 2024 episode of Arlette Amuli's dating show Pop the Balloon, during which he insulted every woman who popped their balloon to show they weren't interested in dating him. Aaron was reportedly fired from his job as a plumber after the video went viral due to viewers calling his workplace to complain, attracting media attention. On June 12th, 2024, the 11th episode of Pop the Balloon Or Find Love was posted to Arlette Amuli's YouTube[1] channel, garnering over 6.2 million views in nine months. At the 01:08:15 mark, the final contestant, Aaron the Plumber, aka Aaron Sloan, is brought in, explaining that he doesn't want a promiscuous, unclean, unemployed woman.

One contestant immediately pops her balloon, with nearly every other woman popping their balloon over the next 15 minutes as they hear him respond to each woman's reasons for popping their balloons with what some have interpreted as rude comments and what others have interpreted as brutal honesty. At the end of the episode, a woman named Esther chooses not to pop her balloon and go on a date with Aaron.

On June 18th, a screenshot from Aaron's now-deleted Instagram page was posted to the /r/Asmongold[2] subreddit, garnering over 200 upvotes in nine months. In the post, Aaron claims that he was fired from his job over the episode after too many people called his workplace to complain about him, writing, "ALL THIS CLOUT CHASING GOT ME FIRED FROM WORK MAN I REALLY LOVE PLUMBING AND IM GOOD AT IT & THEY GOT THAT TAKEN FROM ME yall are sick they called the company 500xs and are messing up business."

The video continued to spread and became the subject of reactions online, with the news about his firing adding fuel to its virality. For example, on June 20th, YouTubers[3] Aba N Preach posted a reaction video titled, "Man Roasts The Queens On Dating Show, RUINS HIS OWN LIFE," garnering over 1.6 million views in nine months. On June 21st, Twenty Two Words[4] reported on his firing.

Content Creation

In July 2024, Aaron started pursuing content creation more seriously. On July 14th, 2024, he posted his first video to his YouTube channel, AARON THE PLUMBER OFFICIAL, which is a music video for a Rick Ross diss track, garnering over 13,000 views in eight months. In the video, he raps in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles suit, a reference to the Pop the Balloon episode, in which one woman compares him to a teenage mutant ninja turtle.

He began posting content regularly to his new Instagram page, you.not.qualified, on July 23rd, garnering over 137,000 followers over the next eight months.

Appearance On Two Ways With Erica Mena

On February 2nd, 2025, Two Ways With Erica Mena, a reality dating series in which men and women compete for Erica Mena's love, began airing on The Zeus Network. Aaron is a contestant in the series.[5] Aaron's appearance on the show was controversial and he regularly fought with other cast mates, including Alec, Austin, Brea and Seven. Aaron left the show after five episodes after getting in an altercation with Mena that made him feel disrespected.[6]

During the filming of the show, before it aired on The Zeus Network, Aaron started complaining about his departure from the show. For example, on December 23rd, 2024, two months before it aired, Aaron posted a video to YouTube[7] titled "Zeus Network Tried To Play Me" garnering over 107,000 views in three months.

After the show aired, clips of Aaron's fights and most heated moments on the show went viral online. For example, on February 27th, 2025, X[8] user @ipodkingcarter posted a compilation that gained over 1,800 likes in a week.

Appearances On 20 WOMEN VS 1 COMEDIAN

On March 4th, 2025, the FBC YouTube[9] channel uploaded a video of their dating game 20 Women vs. 1 Comedian featuring Aaron as the comedian, garnering over 300,000 views in three days.

On March 6th, the Lah Mike YouTube[10] channel uploaded a video with a similar premise, also called 20 Women vs. 1 Comedian, featuring Aaron, garnering over 102,000 views in a day.

Later that day, X[11] user @FearedBuck posted a clip from the episode of Aaron getting in a fight with one of the contestant's boyfriends, after she suddenly reveals she has a partner already while talking with Aaron. The boyfriend enters the camera to escort her off camera and Aaron slaps him. The post gained over 48,000 likes in a day.

As Aaron gained a following, he became the increasing subject of memes, interviews and content online. On October 30th, 2024, Aaron appeared on an episode of the YouTube[12] podcast No Jumper, garnering over 200,000 views in five months.
