Kevin Leonardo

Overview

Kevin Leonardo, also known as thecoolestkev, is a content creator on TikTok and YouTube known best for his story time and educational videos catering towards a gay audience, often covering self-care tips, advice and sexual topics. Leonardo gained a considerable fanbase online throughout 2022 and 2023, resulting in fan pages on TikTok dedicated to him that share funny clips from his TikTok livestreams. In late June 2023, Leonardo released a video tutorial on how to remove hairs from one's posterior using Nair hair-removal cream in which he shows his anus, inspiring shocked reactions and memes across social media shortly after. Leonardo also sells a "bottoming course" online.

Online History

Prior to focusing on content creation, Kevin Leonardo started a Twitter^[1] account @thecoolestkevv in 2010 and an Instagram^[2] account @thecoolestkev in 2015. On June 30th, 2020, he posted his first video to his TikTok^[3] account, @thekewlestkev. That year, he began regularly posting content including story time videos, comment response videos, skits and giving advice catering towards gay men (examples shown below). The account gained over 300,000 followers by 2023.

On September 7th, 2021, Leonardo posted his first video to his YouTube^[4] channel, titled, "HOW TO BOTTOM – Answering Your Questions!" garnering over 18,800 views in two years (shown below). The video's description advertises an online course that Leonardo offers on how to bottom, linking to his website kevinleonardo.com.^[5] Leonardo gained over 26,000 subscribers over the next two years.

Kevin Leonardo Nair Video

On June 25th, 2023, Leonardo uploaded a video to YouTube^[6] titled "Removing BUTT HAIRS Using NAIR Cream – A Visual Guide!" The video offers an educational explanation and demonstration of how to put Nair cream on your posterior to remove hair and prominently features Leonardo's exposed anus as he does the demonstration. It garnered over 1.9 million views in five days.

The video inspired shocked reactions and memes on TikTok and Twitter. On June 26th, Twitter^[7] user @thatoneh0le posted, "So I just saw Kevin Leonardo's hole on YouTube and idk how to feel-😀." On June 27th, Leonardo celebrated the success of the video on Twitter,^[10] posting a screenshot of the analytics and writing, "The way I can’t believe this fucking video got 1M views in 2 days ……" garnering over 200 likes in three days (shown below).

On June 28th, TikToker^[8] @youngboysforces posted a video about the YouTube upload, garnering over 184,000 views in two days (shown below, left). On the same day, TikToker^[9] @userjawa727 posted a meme about the video, garnering over 300,000 views in the same span of time (shown below, right).

Allegations

The Kevin Leonardo Allegations refers to a series of allegations leveled at content creator Kevin Leonardo for his Discord server, which purportedly allowed minors to discuss sexual and NSFW topics without significant moderation and for claims that he roleplayed as a child victim on Epstein's island, among other problematic claims, including claims that he has had sexual interactions with his cat. Leonardo gained viral fame in June 2023 for his "Nair video," an educational video in which he goes full frontal nude to show viewers how to use Nair on their posteriors to remove hair. The allegations against Leonardo were first made in August 2023, becoming more widely known in early 2024 after a YouTube posted an expose video on Leonardo. The 18+ Discord channel has since purportedly been removed from the server.

Online Presence

In June 2023, following the viral Nair video, fan pages dedicated to Leonardo began appearing on TikTok. Most notably, TikToker^[11] @kevinleonardo1fan began posting comedic highlights from Leonardo's TikTok live streams on June 26th, 2023 to hundreds of thousands of views. In many of the clips, Leonardo picks his preference between Taylor Swift and a potentially controversial topic or event, such as Pride Month or September 11th. This stems from a prior live on Leonardo's Taylor Swift TikTok account where he claims that Taylor Swift's album 1989 deserved to with the Grammy in 2016 over Kendrick Lamar's To Pimp a Butterfly.

On June 27th, the TikToker^[12] posted a clip of Leonardo picking Taylor Swift over a BLM protest, garnering over 413,000 views in three days (shown below, left). On June 29th, the TikToker^[13] uploaded a similar video where Leonardo gives his opinions on various topics, garnering over 630,000 views in a day (shown below, right).
