About

Woah Vicky is the online handle of teenage social media personality Victoria Waldrip. Online, Waldrip has been widely compared to Danielle Bregoli and accused of cultural appropriation, leading her to make the controversial claim that she considers herself a part of the Black race. In 2022, Waldrip refound Christianity and started posting more about her religion online. In 2023, Waldrip was a cast member on the reality series Baddies East but left after five episodes, allegedly due to an altercation with cast member Janet.

Online History

On July 4th, 2016, Waldrip created the @imwoahvicky[1] Instagram feed, which gathered upwards of 1.3 million followers over the next two years. On May 21st, 2017, Waldrip uploaded the first video to her Woahh Vicky YouTube channel titled "The Lotion Challenge," in which she eats a spoonful of lotion with a friend (deleted). In August, she created the @imwoahvicky[2] Twitter feed.

On March 12th, 2018, Waldrip released a music video for her song "Woah Vicky" to her WoahVickyVEVO YouTube[7] page, garnering over 1.8 million views in five years (shown below).



Fights With Danielle Bregoli

On April 16th, 2018, YouTuber[4] Swamp Town Media and Production uploaded a video of Bregoli and Waldrip fighting in public, garnering over 1.5 million views in five years (shown below).

On October 30th, 2019, TMZ[5] reported that Bregoli and Waldrip got into a second altercation, writing, "DANIELLE BREGOLI
GETS ASS BEAT BY WOAH VICKY." A video of the fight was uploaded to their YouTube[6] channel that day, garnering over 2.1 million views in four years (embed unavailable, age restricted).



Conversion to Christianity

In 2022, Waldrip converted to Christianity. On November 17th, 2022, Waldrip posted a video to YouTube[9] where she gives some insight into the choice (shown below).



On June 23rd, 2023, Waldrip appeared on the YouTube[10] podcast Under the Influence Show, where she elaborates more on refinding God, garnering over 66,000 views in four months (shown below).



Appearance On Baddies East, Alleged Altercation With Chrisean Rock

On August 4th, 2023, Hello Beautiful[8] reported on the cast for the fourth season of the reality series Baddies East, revealing that Waldrip, as well as other social media stars like Chrisean Rock, would appear on the show (full cast shown below).

On August 14th, Waldrip posted a video to YouTube[14] where she shows some injuries and explains how she allegedly got into a fight during the filming of Baddies East. In the video, she says she mainly wanted to use the show to spread the words of God and that she didn't want to fight with anyone. She claims that, while some girls in the house were fighting, she was told by producers to go down and yell "Jesus love y'all" at them, then Janet, described as "Chrisean's friend," started to attack her. On August 15th, HipHopDX[15] reported that Waldrip allegedly was suing Chrisean Rock for assault over the fight, although these claims were denied by a producer for the show.



The show premiered on September 17th, 2023 and Waldrip left the show after the fifth episode, which aired on October 15th, 2023. Waldrip allegedly left after getting in a physical altercation with another cast member, Janet. In the clip, Waldrip is shouting at Chrisean and Janet that Jesus loves them. Chrisean expresses her annoyance with Waldrip and Janet, friends with Chrisean, charges and attacks her. The clip spread around social media as viewers gave their reactions to the fight.[11][12][13]



Controversies

Feuds

In mid-August 2017, Waldrip released a diss track targeting YouTuber RiceGum. While the original upload has since been removed, a mirror was subsequently uploaded by YouTuber thot (shown below).



On August 18th, RiceGum uploaded a video reacting to the diss track titled "This girl must be stopped," (shown below, left). On October 1st, the YouTuber Face Reveals channel uploaded footage of Bregoli reacting to the RiceGum diss track (shown below, right).



On July 12th, YouTuber 1600quickkick uploaded footage of Waldrip and Bregoli engaging in an argument over FaceTime chat (deleted). On July 15th, YouTuber DomisLive NEWS uploaded a video discussing a feud between Bregoli and Waldrip which garnered upwards of 1.4 million views and 5,300 comments in six months (shown below).



Racial Identity

On July 22nd, 2017, Waldrip uploaded a video in which she claimed she was 25% Black based on DNA test results from the website Ancestry.com and claimed she identified as a "Black girl" (re-upload shown below). Within six months, the video received more than 2.4 million views.



On September 9th, YouTuber Triggered Tro uploaded a video titled "Colorblind White Girls Thinks She's Black," which gained over 1.9 million views and 5,500 comments within four months (shown below, left). On December 6th, Waldrip posted a screenshot of her Ancestry.com "Ethnicity Estimate" to Instagram,[3] along with the caption "Proof that I'm black so stfu butch" (shown below, right).

On December 26th, YouTuber Benji uploaded a video titled "Woah Vicky Talks Normally," which mocks Waldrip's use of African American Vernacular English (AAVE) (deleted). Within one month, the video received upwards of 4.8 million views and 9,000 comments. On January 14th, 2018, YouTuber Triggered Tro released a followup video titled "WoahVicky Admits She's White," which accumulated more than 631,000 views and 6,300 comments over the next 48 hours (shown below).
