Ahi Challenge is a TikTok dance that became popular in late January 2020. The dance that is set to the reggaeton song "Tra Tra" by Nfasis[1] involves moving your hips back and forth with a series of different arm placements.

Origin

On January 24th, 2020, TikToker @elrodcontreras posted the first Ahi Challenge dance video which gained over one million likes in a month (shown below).

On January 28th, 2020, TikTok star Charlli D'Amelio performed the dance and received over 8.2 million likes in three weeks (shown below, left). That same day, TikToker @addisonre of Hype House posted a video of the dance and garnered over 3.3 million likes in three weeks (shown below, center). On February 7th, stars of the show "This Is Us" performed the dance using @sterlingkbrown's account (shown below, right). The video accumulated over 259,000 likes in a week. StayHipp[2] published an article on the popular dance challenge.
