The Aidin "Fingertip" Stephen Video is a rumored video recording of a high school kid named Aidin Stephen who was found eating a classmate's finger in a bathroom stall after livestreaming himself killing the classmate with a pair of scissors on Instagram Live in 2008. The video does not exist and the crime is not real. It is a hoax that went viral on TikTok in mid-August 2023 after user @aidenstevenoffical added the story to the end of a slideshow about "disturbing facts about serial killers."
Origin
On August 15th, 2023, TikToker[1] @aidenstevenoffical posted a slideshow consisting of disturbing facts about serial killers. In the last slide, the TikToker inserts a slideshow telling a fake story about a high schooler named Aidin "Fingertip" Stephen who, in 2008, streamed himself killing another student with scissors. According to the story, Stephen was caught eating the kid's finger in a bathroom stall. The video gained over 8.3 million views in two weeks (shown below).
There is no evidence that this crime actually happened, with Instagram Live also not becoming available until 2016. Further, the TikToker is known to insert comedic slides at the end of his slideshow posts, for example, in a July 2023 post to TikTok[2] about how inflation has affected the world.

The video caused an increase in search interest in "Aidin Fingertip Stephen" on Google Trends[3] as some curious viewers began looking for the video. Some people online began using the term "Aidin Fingertip Stephen" to bait clicks from people searching for the footage, including YouTuber[4] World Leaked News who, on August 25th, 2023, uploaded an unrelated video titled "Aidin Fingertip Stephen Video Leaked on Internet" showing a child playing piano, garnering over 6,000 views in three days (shown below).
