Aight I Say Uh refers to a series of memes using a clip from a freestyle rap by Drake where he says, "Aight I say uh," followed by a comedic sound effect, as if being rapped by Drake. The freestyle was uploaded to YouTube in 2010 and became the subject of edits in 2022.

Origin

On June 11th, 2010, the TimWestwoodTV YouTube^[1] channel posted a freestyle video featuring Drake. At the 0:33 second mark, Drake approaches the microphone to start freestyling, saying, "Aight, I say uh," then proceeding to rap (shown below). The video gained over 3.9 million views in 12 years.

In 2022, edits of the clip, where a sound effect or song is added after he says "uh," became increasingly popular. One of the earliest known edits of the clip was uploaded as a Short to YouTube^[2] on January 24th, 2022, adding Monster How Should I Feel to the video, gaining over 8,400 views in three months.

Spread

New edits of the clip were uploaded to YouTube and TikTok over the following months. On February 26th, YouTuber^[3] Official Meme Stealer posted a version where the Bob's Burgers theme plays, gaining over 34,000 views in two months (shown below, left). On April 2nd, YouTuber^[4] itsJustpickle posted a version using "Trumpet Fanfare," the song used in horse racing, over the clip, gaining over 28,000 views in three weeks (shown below, right).

On April 14th, YouTuber^[5] Goofy Ahh Productions posted an edit of the video adding a Goofy Ahh audio clip to it, gaining over 814,000 views in a week (shown below).

On April 15th, TikToker^[6] @bobbysie posted an edit of the clip adding a song to the end of the clip, gaining over 3.3 million views in six days (shown below). On April 19th, YouTuber^[7] Quandale Dingle posted a version using the Skype ringtone, gaining over 200,000 views in two days.
