Al Buqqi is a nickname for Buc-ee's, an American gas station and travel center chain, that comedically compares Buc-ees to Mecca, the holiest city in the Islamic faith, which adult Muslims must make a pilgrimage or Hajj to once in their adult lifetime.

Memes referring to Buc-ee's as Al Buqqi and joking about making pilgrimages to it were popularized on social media in late August through September 2026. The memes tend to show someone arriving at Buc-ee's, along with a flag showing Buc-ee's face surrounded by Arabic text.

Origin

In June 2025, an Instagram user and artist known as Crab Rangoons began selling "Al Buc-ee's" flags as merch. These flags depict Buc-ee the beaver, the mascot for Buc-ee's, surrounded by Arabic text. Crab Rangoons was threatened with legal action for selling these.^[1][2]

On August 31st, 2026, TikToker^[3] @d1.is300.hater posted a video that features the same flag over a video of a Buc-ee's. The video is captioned, "Inshallah, I made the hajj to Al-Buqqi," and gained over 1.6 million views in a month.

On September 8th, TikToker^[5] @inseongsofficialbestie posted a similar video that gained over 519,000 views in three weeks.

On September 14th, TikToker^[6] @nick10ant2 posted a video following the trend that gained over 322,000 views in two weeks.
