About

Ambatron, also known as Dreamybot, refers to a cyborg robot with the head of Dreamybull, known for the Ambatukam meme. A blurry photo of the robot surfaced on Facebook and TikTok in early 2024, earning memes and edits en masse. As imagined by the memes, Ambatron's lore involves him conquering the universe and being all-powerful. It is currently unconfirmed if the image is photoshopped, AI-generated or real.

Origin

On January 29th, 2024, Indonesian Facebook^[1] user Gilbykemalizudinamzar posted an image to the Sungut Lele Facebook group, showing a robot with the head of Dreamybull, humorously claiming that he'd be a future soldier for the Sungut Lele group. The post received over 600 reactions and 420 shares in two months (shown below). It is currently the first known upload of the image.

Spread

Going into February 2024, the image spread to TikTok, evident in an early video posted by TikToker^[2] @ninopacee on February 10th, 2024, that compared a Terminator-like robot to Ambatron using a Red Circle format, gaining over 5.3 million plays and 21,200 likes in a month (shown below, left).

Similar videos surfaced soon after, like a video posted by TikToker^[3] @nekonekoheylixx on February 17th, 2024, that imagined Ambatron's voice, receiving over 9 million plays and 160,300 likes in a month (shown below, right).

On February 20th, 2024, TikToker^[4] @nahurrr uploaded a photo slideshow of Ambatron's lore, receiving more than 5.4 million plays and 196,500 likes in one month (recording shown below).

On February 24th, 2024, Instagram^[5] user @neetchaneru posted a screenshot of Gilbykemalizudinamzar's Facebook^[1] post, receiving over 13,400 likes in a month. The meme also spread on Twitter / X, evident in a post shared by X^[6] user @Jahrihanna on February 27th, 2024, reading, "Dreamybot , ambatukill John Connor," receiving over 250 likes in a month (shown below).
