Anna Frey "What Noise Does a Goat Make?" is an exploitable video clip of tennis player and TikToker Anna Frey saying that her favorite animal is a goat followed by making a goat sound when asked during an interview with fellow TikToker @kitch_mimball. The clip was posted to TikTok in August 2023 and became the subject of edits in January 2024 in which a talented sports star or other figure is shown after she says her favorite animal is a goat, the idea being that her person shown is the G.O.A.T.

Origin

On August 29th, 2023, TikToker^[1] @kitch_mimball posted a video in which he interviewed several students. He asks the first student, tennis player Anna Frey, what her favorite animal is and she answers "a goat." He then asks her to make a goat noise and she does. The video gained over 13.5 million views in eight months (shown below).

Spread

In January 2024, the clip was popularized through video edits in which clips of sports stars are edited in after Frey says her favorite animal is a goat.

For example, on January 15th, 2024, TikToker^[2] @and1.aep posted a video using the format that gained over 6 million views in three months (shown below, left). On January 19th, TikToker^[3] @vankost.ae posted a version of the meme that gained over 6.1 million views in the same span of time (shown below, right).

On January 25th, Instagram^[4] user thecryptoschizo posted an ironic version of the meme in which videos of Jeffrey Epstein play after Frey says "goat," garnering over 2,100 likes in three months. The meme was reuploaded to YouTube^[5] in February 2024, garnering over 30,000 views in two months (shown below).

On January 31st, 2024, TikToker^[6] @95race posted a version of the meme in which videos of Lightning McQueen from Cars play after the clip, garnering over 265,000 views in three months (shown below). It was reposted by X^[7] user @sanjafut on February 16th, garnering over 290 likes in two months.
