Bad Bitch Genre refers to a viral TikTok sound in which a woman states, "Not everybody fits in the bad bitch genre. It's a genre." It originates from a video posted on the platform in early 2022 that was later used as a sound for multiple lib dubs.

Origin

On March 13th, 2022, TikToker^[1] savannahhannah_ posted a video in which she's ranting to her front-facing camera, stating, "I'm sorry. Not everybody fits in the bad bitch genre. It's a genre. Not everybody fits on the roster." Over the course of one month, the video received roughly 5.8 million plays and 765,700 likes (shown below, left). However, the aforementioned TikTok is not the true original. This is evident in a TikTok posted by TikToker^[2] hexsii on October 31st, 2021, which used the "Bad Bitch Genre" sound and earned roughly 6.2 million plays and 324,700 likes (shown below, right). Most likely, savannahhannah_ posted the original sometime in October 2021, deleted it and then lip dubbed her own audio on March 13th, 2022.

After the March 2022 video, TikTokers started using the sound for their own videos. For instance, on March 28th, 2022, TikToker^[3] latinafreshpasta posted a video that earned roughly 1.1 million plays and 187,000 likes in three weeks (shown below, left). On March 31st, 2022, TikToker^[4] www.aanastasia.com posted her own version that received roughly 1.2 million plays and 240,400 likes in three weeks (shown below, right).

Going into April 2022, verified TikTokers started using the sound. For instance, Bhad Bhabie posted a TikTok^[5] on April 11th that earned roughly 7 million plays and 945,800 likes in 10 days (shown. below, left). Non-female TikTokers started using the sound too in April. For instance, TikToker^[6] lukeinpain posted a version on April 19th that earned roughly 2.9 million plays and 804,000 likes in two days (shown below, right).

As of April 21st, 2022, the sound^[7] amassed roughly 167,400 videos using it.
