About
The Bad League of Legends Player meme depicts the champion "Twitch" from the game League of Legends, a champion that is commonly refered to by the community for being played by noobs and new players as he is very unbalanced and underpowered and is thus only played by new players who know nothing about competitive play. It is very related to the game League of Legends itself, as the statements on the image macro are always about the game, thus people without proper knowledge of the game will not get the jokes.
Origin and Spread
The Bad LoL Player meme is an image macro meme that has started on the 30th of July 2011 on the official League of Legends forums by the user Glamurio. It has been posted in the "General Discussion" thread and has gained 20 pages of replies as of now. Many pictures have been posted on QuickMeme. As League of Legends becomes more and more famous, the Meme slowly but steadily spreads along the Internet. Furthermore, recently the meme has gained a lot of fame around certain circles in Tumblr as well.
Background Information
The core about this meme is to understand the basic mechanics in the game. As League of Legends is a very team-play based game, it is required that every team member gives his best to assist the team, this includes calling missing champions, aiding in battle or securing special monsters and minions to gain the advantage over the other team.
As in any game, players who are new to the game or simply are very bad at it tend to screw up certain key events in the game, thus punishing the entire team and giving the enemy team a big advantage. The Meme uses several, well-known situations that are often committed by new players and result in a Faceslap moment.
