About

Bart, I Don't Want To Alarm You is a video remix series derived from a clip from an episode of The Simpsons in which Homer bursts into Bart's room and tells him something terrifying that causes him to scream. In remixes, Bart's audio is altered, often to sounds from video games.

Origin

On December 16, 1993, the season 5 episode of The Simpsons entitled "$pringfield (or, How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Legalized Gambling)" aired.[1] In the episode, Homer enters Bart's room to inform him of the presence of a Boogeyman or Boogeymen in their house (shown below).

Spread

The earliest documented alteration of the clip was posted by Youtuber Prince Lock on February 25th, 2017, which replaced Bart's scream with Loud Nigra. Several months later, Youtuber UberOfFP posted another alteration on June 1st, 2017, replacing both Homer's and Bart's voices with alarm clocks.

In May of 2019, remixes which replaced audio of the scene with audio from video games grew popular on Twitter. On May 13th, 2019, Twitter user @KnightOfGames_ posted a video of the clip getting interrupted by the "End of Trial" screen from the Masterpieces section of Super Smash Bros. Brawl. The post (shown below, top) received more 1,100 retweets and 3,500 likes in 3 days. On May 14th, Twitter user @robotfaker_ tweeted the clip with other noises from Nintendo consoles, gaining over 800 retweets and 2,600 likes (shown below, bottom).
