The memes were popularized in early March 2026 after several videos purportedly showing him with much bushier eyebrows than usual went viral, inspiring theories and memes about what he did to make his eyebrows bushier. The videos are edited to increase the size of Shapiro's brows and are not authentic.

On March 6th, 2026, X^[1] user @BackupJeffx posted a video from Ben Shapiro's YouTube^[2] channel where Shapiro criticizes conservative broadcast journalist Tucker Carlson. In the clip, Shapiro's eyebrows have been edited to appear larger than they actually are, which can be seen when comparing the original upload to the upload by @BackupJeffx. The post gained over 2,600 likes in three days.

The post inspired many comments making fun of Shapiro for the size of his eyebrows, with many believing it to be authentic.

On March 6th, 2026, X^[3] user @Sneakoedit posted a clip of streamer Sneako watching the edit and reacting to Ben Shapiro's eyebrows.

On March 7th, X^[4] user @DreamLeaf5 posted an unedited image of Shapiro next to the eyebrows edit, writing, "Ben Shapiro got gender affirming eyebrow enlargement," garnering over 77,000 likes and 2,800 reposts in two days.

On March 8th, a post about his eyebrows was made to the /r/behindthebastards^[5] subreddit that gained over 750 upvotes in a day.

That day, X^[6] user @BackupJeffx posted another video edit of Shapiro's eyebrows, which are less bushy in the original upload,^[7] gaining over 25,000 likes in a day.
