Facts Don't Care About Your Feelings is a catchphrase often associated with Ben Shapiro and conservative politics in the U.S. Since Shapiro first used the phrase in 2016, it has been widely referenced in various memes, copypastas and quotes around the web, both mockingly or seriously.
Origin
On July 17th, 2015, Ben Shapiro appeared on the American current affairs program Dr. Drew on Call to discuss Caitlyn Jenner, who at the time had recently come out as transgender. When others on the panel criticized Shapiro for disregarding Jenner's personal pronouns. He responded, "Forget about the disrespect: facts don't care about your feelings." The clip received more than 8.2 million views on YouTube after HLN published the video (shown below). This is the earliest known example of Shapiro using the phrase.
The earliest known use of the phrase "facts don't care about your feelings" by Ben Shapiro online occurred on February 5th, 2016, when he tweeted it on his Twitter[1] account. The post (shown below) received over 135,000 retweets and 390,000 likes in over four years.

On January 11th, 2019, the Facebook[2] page Occupy Democrats Logic posted a meme referencing the quote (seen below, left), receiving over 2,400 likes and 287 shares. On April 29th, 2019, the Facebook[3] page >implying music is good posted another example using the phrase in a meme (seen below, right), receiving over 1,100 likes, 259 shares and 169 comments.
On February 17th, 2019, Redditor[4] Dreamare posted a copypasta including the use of the quote (shown below) under the title “orange man rad,” accumulating over 4,000 upvotes and 107 comments in six months.
"B-but MAGAman," says the libtard, "orange man has done some pretty unrad things. Here's a list-" I cut him off. The libtard is clearly delusional after being cucked for the 5th time this week. I grab the list out of his hands, and crumple it into a paper ball, and then eat it. I stare into his eyes the whole time, and he is too petrified to look away. I move my mouth up to his ears, and whisper, "shut up libtard, facts don't care about your feelings."
On December 30th, 2018, the Instagram[5] account theprequelmemes posted another meme referencing the quote in the context of Star Wars (seen below, left), receiving over 18,000 likes in roughly two years. On June 8th, 2020, comedian and actor Patton Oswalt posted a Twitter screenshot to his Instagram[6] using the phrase (seen below, right), receiving over 27,000 likes in roughly three months.
On September 18th, 2020, Twitter[7] user JohnSwanYT tweeted a joke referencing the catchphrase that said, “I call that girl facts because she don't care about your feelings” (shown below), accumulating 222 likes in four days.
