Bora Bill refers to a Brazilian viral video showcasing a funny interaction that took place during an amateur soccer match live stream. The narrator teases "Bill," one of the coaches of the match, screaming his name repeatedly during the match. The video became popular on Facebook in July 2022

Origin

On January 5th, 2016, the YouTube^[1] page Tv 100 Futuro de Betânia – CE posted a video of an amateur soccer championship in Ceará, Brazil. The goal of the page was to live stream matches and share edited clips of the amateur soccer team TV 100 Futuro de Betânia. The page got famous after a compilation video uploaded on April 20th, 2021 of the person recording the live streams of the games teasing a guy named Bill, who is the coach of one of the teams, screaming his name repeatedly during the matches. He says "Bora Bill", which translates to "let's go Bill".

On July 30th, 2022, the newly created Facebook^[2] page of the team posted a video of the match's narrator teasing Bill. The post received 968,000 views and 30,000 likes in three months.

The video of the narrator mocking the coach was shared by another amateur soccer team called Torcidas Os Cornetas^[3] on August 14th, 2022, receiving 7 million views and 302,000 likes in two months. The meme "Bora Bill" began gaining popularity on TikTok in September 2022. On September 7th, 2022, the audio of the narrator was used with the Bart's Testing Megaphones meme by user @ghost.n.stufff. The video has 2.9 million views and 434.000 likes in less than a day since
it was first posted.

Bora Bill Parody Music

On September 6th, 2022, the TikTok page @marelhasdj posted a video (see below) with a funk parody music of the meme "Bora Bill". The post has 1.3 million views and the sound has 938 other videos uploaded on the app, with dance trends and comedy being created using the narrator screaming the coach's name as the soundtrack.
