About
Both? Both. Both. Both Is Good is a dialogue from the 2000 Dreamworks animated movie The Road To El Dorado, in which the protagonists Miguel and Tulio come to an mutual agreement to accept both choices presented to them. This scene became a popular reaction image, associated with dilemma situations in which both options can and should be picked.
Origin
The Road To El Dorado premiered in theaters on March 31st, 2000. In one scene (see below), the high priest Tzekel-Kan suggests organizing a ceremony at dawn in honor of Tulio and Miguel, a proposition that chief Tannabok outbids by offering a feast at evening. When Tzekel-Kan presses them to make a decision, Tulio and Miguel quickly agree to pick both options.
Tzekel-Kan: – To commemorate your arrival, I propose a reverent ceremony at dawn.
Tannabok: – Aah, then perhaps I could prepare a glorious feast for you tonight.
Tzekel-Kan: – Which would you prefer?
Miguel: – …Both?
Tulio: – Both.
Both: – Both.
Miguel: – Both is good. [both nod]
