Chillet is an ice-type Pal from the video game Palworld depicted as a large, slender, dragon-like creature with fins, big ears and dark blue markings. After the early access version of the game was released in January 2024, Chillet became a fan favorite Pal, inspiring memes and fan art referencing it.

Origin

Chillet is entry number 55 in Palworld's Paldex. Its description reads:

It can curl up its body and roll around at extremely high speeds. Long ago, people would tie bags of milk to domesticated Chillet as they grazed to produce butter using this spinning force.

Palworld was released in an early access state on January 19th, 2024. That day, YouTuber^[1] Video Game News posted a video on how to catch a Chillet, garnering over 6,000 views in two weeks (shown below).

Chillet became a fan favorite Pal following the game's release, inspiring fan art and memes across social media.On January 24th, 2024, Redditor u/AstraDrgn posted an I've Only Had Arlo For A Day And A Half meme about Chillet to /r/Palworld^[2] that gained over 6,600 upvotes in a week (shown below). The meme was reposted by the @PalworldUpdates X^[3] account the next day, garnering over 6,000 likes in the same span of time.

That day, YouTuber^[4] massacure's Clips posted a video compiling clips of Chillet walking set to the song "Accumula Town" from Pokemon, garnering over 40,000 views in a week (shown below).

On January 31st, X^[5] user @kazunekomori posted fan art of Chillet standing with the Pokemon Furret, writing, "chillet the furret-shaped creature," garnering over 3,100 likes in a day (shown below, left). Later that day, X^[6] user @Mysticwaffle032 posted fan art that gained over 2,300 likes in a day (shown below, right).
