About

Chipi Chipi Chapa Chapa is a memorable chorus from the song "Dubidubidu" by Christell, which achieved meme popularity online in late 2023 after a Boykisser animation using it went viral. In December 2023, the chorus achieved viral popularity on TikTok as it was combined with videos of animals dancing.

Origin

On September 23rd, 2010, Chilean child singer Christell uploaded her song "Dubidubidu", originally recorded in 2003, to YouTube.[1] The song received over 372,000 views as of June 28th, 2018, and over 2.8 million views as of July 8th, 2023, but was made private from YouTube some time in the second half of 2023. A recording of Christell performing the live song during an episode of Chilean television program Rojo was uploaded to YouTube[2] (shown below, left). On May 7th, 2020, YouTube[3] user Fleeting Hell posted a song audio to YouTube, with the upload garnering over 2.1 million views in three years (shown below, right).

About the origin:
The first instance of the song used in this meme comes from a boykisser animation published on twitter around the 27th of October
link: https://twitter.com/Kuowonn/status/1717810399666683959
The animation had a rather small spread as a meme mainly in TikTok but never really left the communities asociated with the original boykisser meme.

The current meme associated with the cat bobbing up and down appeared a few weeks later and quickly spread through the internet (I think the original must've been made between the 4th of november and the 8th)
