About

Known as the "Chk-Chk-Boom Girl" to hundreds of thousands of YouTube viewers, Australian Clare Werbeloff gained instant celebrity as witness to a shooting in Sydney's nightlife district. But in a twist to the tale, the 19-year-old now says the television interview she gave was pure invention and she never saw the shooting, The Australian newspaper reported Monday. [Source]

"There were these two wogs fighting. The fatter wog said to the skinnier wog: 'Oi bro, you slept with my cousin.' And the other one said: 'Nah man, I didn't for shit, eh' and the other one goes: 'I will call on my fully sick boys, eh.' And then pulled out a gun and went 'chk-chk boom'."

Clare has been criticised for not only speaking in an overt and unapologetically racist manner, but for also lying just for her chance to be on TV.

TV Interview: Exaggerated Claims of Fame

According to this interview with NineMSN, Clare states that she has fans all over the world, specifically in the countries of England, the US, Dubai, Malaysia, and Hong Kong.

Google Insights for Search shows that although this is HUGE in Australia, there is nearly no search traffic for it in the rest of the world. It's no surprise to hear that claims of her fame have been a bit exaggerated. As she stated herself, "I'm just having fun with the media."

Here, we compare the terms "chk-chk boom," "Clare Werbeloff" and "Wog" and "Bogan."

Searches for the terms “chk-chk boom” and “Clare Werbeloff” are on the rise. And, the terms “bogan” and “wog” have increased sharply, as those who came across her videos outside of Australia were forced to ask the question, “Just what exactly are wogs and bogans anyway?”

Remix videos

While the main video has over 250,000 views, the majority of the remixes have had barely any views at all. Some of those with views in the thousands, are the following.

Chk-Chk-Boom Merchandise

In addition to the remix videos, catchphrase embroidered t-shirts and coffee mugs have been surfacing around online merchandise sites like Zazzle and Cafe Press.

However, following her interview, proclaiming her own internet fame citing the fact that she "had 1000 views and a facebook fan profile" Youtube suddenly became congested with hundreds of Chk-Chk Boom videos over the course of a few days. So many videos, in fact, that a large portion of the videos remain unwatched.
