Chocobo Racing Remixes , also known as "X racing", are a series of MAD videos on the Japanese video sharing service Nico Nico Douga (NND) and YouTube Poop Music Videos (YTPMVs) on YouTube.
Origin
Video remixes in this seirs mainly use the audio track "Cid's Test Course" (Japanese: シドのテストコース) from 1999 video game for PSX console Chocobo Racing by Square (now Square Enix).[1] This song is also remixed version of "Chocobo Theme" from the J-RPG series Final Fantasy.

On Nico Nico Douga
The song "Cid's Test Course" began to be introduced into MAD videos on NND around the middle of 2008. The earliest instance we can find toady is "Kaiba Racing" which was uploaded on August 7th, 2008.[2] This video is also a detivative of Yu-Gi-Oh meme Ememy Controller.
Since then, this song has been occasionally reused in MAD videos. As of March 2012, the amount of videos related to the song on NND is over 200.[3]
On YouTube
This fad on NND was imported to YouTube by a Japanese MAD/YTPMV creator yamas03's "49 racing", which was uploaded to both YouTube and NND around September, 2010.[4] This video was a derivative of another NND meme God (Age: 59).
Some of YTPMV creators have been mimicking this yamas03's style with their own renditions and posting videos with the phrasal template "X racing".
