About
Chuck Norris, born Carlos Ray "Chuck" Norris on March 10th, 1940, is a martial artist, actor, and culture star. Chuck Norris is mostly known for his roles in the TV series Walker, Texas Ranger,[3] as well as The Way of The Dragon,[4] where he played alongside Bruce Lee[1].
Chuck Norris has come to represent the epitome of manliness and awesomeness in culture, mostly due to his roles as a fighter in movies and TV shows.
The meme Chuck Norris Facts plays off of this, as all the "facts" deal with Norris' ability to do anything because of his manliness. He can also be seen in many pictures holding two automatic machine guns and/or having an exposed chest, as seen below.
Movies and Television Shows
Chuck Norris's first movie was Dean Martin's, The Green Berets, in 1968.
In 1972, he acted as Bruce Lee's nemesis in Way of the Dragon, possibly one of his most memorable roles, and most likely (Coupled with Walker Texas Ranger) what made him rise to fame as one of the most widely-recognized martial artists in America.
In 1993, Chuck Norris began shooting Walker Texas Ranger, after having bad luck with his previous films. Walker Texas Ranger lasted 8 years on CBS and accentuated the idea of Chuck Norris being a superhuman due to him being the classic "invincible hero".
Memes
Chuck Norris became memetic in several different ways, but no more so than Chuck Norris Facts. The "Facts" Phenomenon began with the Vin Diesel Fact generator on 4Q.cc[2], and a by-product of the facts generated was people creating facts about the martial-arts master Chuck Norris. Eventually, the Chuck Norris Facts become extremely popular, finally forever surpassing Vin Diesel Facts in popularity.
World of Warcraft Chuck Norris Commercial
In 2011, Chuck Norris was featured in a World of Warcraft commercial, that used the Chuck Norris Facts meme as well. The commercial comes from a series of celebrity sponsors that deal with in-game characters of the celebrities.
