Cocky Want Boing Boing refers to a post from Twitter / X user Dan Hentschel in April 2024 in which he's photoshopped to look like an old bald man who's shirtless at the beach, captioned, "At the beach – Where the hoes at? Cocky want boing boing!" The tweet inspired a slew of redraws and exploitable usage similar to other memes inspired by Hentschel's posts like My Students Are All Morons and Virtual Sin Forgiveness.

Origin

On April 10th, 2024, X^[1] user @danghentschel posted a photoshopped photo of himself at the beach in which he made himself old and bald. The photo was captioned, "At the beach – Where the hoes at? Cocky want boing boing!" receiving over 25 million views and 95,000 likes in five days (shown below).

Spread

Viral quotes of the post started to surface, like X^[2] user @Dogyeena on April 10th, 2024, who said, "'Cocky want boing boing' is going in mental rotation," receiving over 154,000 likes in five days (shown below, left).

On the morning of April 11th, X^[3] user @spidey_figs tweeted an edited version of the selfie, making Hentschel look like Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen from Dune: Part Two, captioned, "May thy knife chip and shatter." The post received roughly 80,000 likes in four days (shown below, right).

Later on April 11th, 2024, various users made their own redraws of Hentschel's selfie, like X^[4] user @ttortillah who made a version with Spot from Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse, earning over 8,900 likes in four days (shown below, left).

Also on April 11th, X^[5] user @noit_anigami made a Baldi's Basics in Education and Learning iteration, receiving over 68,000 likes in four days (shown below, right).

The redraws from X were also shared on Instagram ^[6] in April 2024.

I'm Glad You Guys Liked 'Cocky Want Boing Boing' 'Cause It Got Me Fired

On April 23rd, 2024, X^[7] user @danghentschel posted a follow-up post referencing the original "cocky want boing boing" post, sharing two photos, one of himself outside of Target and one holding a print-out of the original meme, writing, "I’m glad you guys liked 'cocky want boing boing' cause it got me fired," garnering over 229,000 likes in two days (shown below). The post became the subject of redraws.
