I'm Glad You Guys Liked "Cocky Want Boing Boing" 'Cause It Got Me Fired is a viral post by X / Twitter comedian Dan Hentschel referencing the popularity of his Cocky Want Boing Boing post, which became the subject of memes in early April 2024, claiming that he got fired from his job at Target because of it. The follow-up post was made in late April 2024 and, similarly to "Cocky Want Boing Boing," became the subject of redraws and memes on X.

On April 10th, 2024, X[1] user @danghentschel posted a photoshopped photo of himself at the beach in which he made himself old and bald, known as the cocky want boing boing post. The photo was captioned, "At the beach – Where the hoes at? Cocky want boing boing!" receiving over 25 million views and 95,000 likes in five days (shown below). The post became the subject of memes, including redraws.
"Cocky Want Boing Boing Got Me Fired" Post
On April 23rd, 2024, X[2] user @danghentschel posted a follow-up post referencing the original "Cocky Want Boing Boing" post, sharing two photos, one of himself outside of Target and one holding a print-out of the original meme, writing, "I’m glad you guys liked 'cocky want boing boing' cause it got me fired," garnering over 229,000 likes in two days (shown below).

The post became the subject of redraws over the following days, with users often using the caption as a phrasal template replacing "cocky want boing boing" with "X." For example, on April 23rd, 2024, X[3] user @idkjustryan posted an Undertale redraw drawing Hentschel as Gaster, garnering over 9,500 likes in two days (shown below, left). On April 24th, X[4] user @puffycloude posted a Five Nights at Freddy's redraw that gained over 24,000 likes in a day (shown below, right).
