Coolyori is fan art of the character Sayori from the game Doki Doki Literature Club, usually depicted wearing sunglasses and making finger guns. An edit of Coolyori was used to create a variant of Drakeposting.

Origin

On January 31st, 2018, Reddit user jvpiters posted fan art version of the That's Where You're Wrong Kiddo meme with Sayori to the /r/DDLC subreddit with the title "you can’t just respond to everything with finger guns!" The post received over 7,800 points in a year.^[1]

Spread

On March 3rd, 2018, Reddit user Rivhey posted an edit of jvpiters's art to /r/DDLC, with Sayori imitating Drake's poses from the Drakeposting exploitable. Several Redditors began referring to this Sayori as "Coolyori," and started using Rivhey's template to create more posts.^[2]

On March 5th, 2018, jvpiters created a post in /r/DDLC with the title "“coolyori”…? is that what im referred to as now?", which received over 3,080 points.^[3] Another post which included Monika from the game gained over 14,000 points (shown below, right).

Over time, Coolyori posts gained traction outside of /r/DDLC, becoming particularly popular in the transgender meme subreddits /r/traaaaaaannnnnnnnnns and /r/egg_irl. Examples include a post by Victory Goth that gained over 4,000 points (shown below, left) and a post in /r/tf2 that gained over 6,400 points (shown below, right).
