On January 9th, 2026, Tumblr^[6] user buddivorce posted a screenshot of a comment exchange on TikTok. In the exchange, a user named "bookishpauli" writes, "I've never been dated and/or loved LOL." A user named "tris 7/" responds, "did the journal factory explode." The post gained over 5,700 likes, 3,500 reblogs and 16 comments in three months.

On February 26th, 2026, X^[1] user @mobilesuitsam then reposted the screenshot of the comment on TikTok, garnering over 84,000 likes and 6,500 reposts in two weeks.

Spread

On February 27th, 2026, X^[2] user @queermediabait quoted the post by @mobilesuitsam with a meme that applies the comments to the Yellowjackets characters Shauna Shipman and Mari Ibarra, garnering over 1,200 likes in two weeks.

That day, X^[3] user @upuntil_dawn quoted the post, writing, "Did the journal factory explode is the funniest and most relatable thing I’ve heard in a long time," garnering over 256,000 likes and 12,000 reposts in two weeks.

On March 1st, Instagram^[4] user fullofshadee posted a screenshot of the tweet that gained over 22,400 likes in two weeks.
