Dishub Officer Stuck on the Car Hood refers to a viral video of Dishub officer (a worker for an Indonesian public transportation organization) who suffered a hit-and-run but got stuck on the driver's car hood. The video became popular with memes making fun of the officer.
Origin
Prior to January 3rd, 2024, an unknown Facebook user uploaded a video of a driver getting pulled over by a Dishub officer in Jakarta, Indonesia. While the officer attempted to get the driver to open the car door, his partner indicated that he was going to deflate the car's tire. This caused the driver to panic and attempt to drive away while the first officer gets hit and sticks on the car hood. On January 3rd, 2024, Twitter / X[1] user @masbotski uploaded the video when replying to @Pai_C1's post. It received more than 19,000 reposts and 33,000 likes in three days (shown below).

Days later, it was revealed that before the driver started recording, he circled around the area four times while driving and then showed his middle finger to the officers, causing them to pull him over.[2]

The video gained popular with memes making fun of the officer who got stuck. For example, on January 4th, 2023, Twitter / X[3] user @Fajar17 uploaded an edit as if the streamer Windah Basudara was playing Euro Truck Simulator 2 while the officer was stuck in front of his truck. The video received more than 5,700 reposts and 29,100 likes in two days (shown below).

On January 4th, 2023, Facebook[4] user Khiro Hito uploaded a Red Circle Perpetrators edit with the officer using a scene from SpongeBob SquarePants. The post received more than 18,000 reactions and 1,900 shares in two days (shown below, left). On the same day, Twitter / X[5] user @memelord_666666 uploaded a Meme of the Month Calendar edit, claiming the video is the one of "meme of the month" for January 2024. The video received more than 5,900 reposts and 41,000 likes in two days (shown below, right).
