On January 31st, 2022, The Brazilian Iago Soares uploaded the video on TikTok^[1] showing the moment his dog, Thor, appeared to attempt to drown him by pinning his head underwater with his paws. The unusual situation happened in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and the post quickly went viral on the platform, receiving 8 million views, 909,000 likes and more than 20,000 comments in three days. The original post was deleted, but it is preserved by this repost uploaded to YouTube,^[3] which can be seen below.

The video started to be used as meme on Reddit^[2] and Twitter, like this post by /u/crazy_homiesexual, with the caption “My dog when he finds out he’s adopted.” Uploaded on February 11th, 2022, the video received 138 likes and 5 comments in eight months (seen below).

On October 1st, 2022, TikTok^[5] user @priihxz posted the dog video with a caption translating to "what I want to do with the girl screaming in class for attention.” The post received 603 views and 47 likes in two weeks (seen below).
