Dog Jumps Down Stairs is a viral video of a bull terrier, Tank, jumping down a flight of stairs and landing safely. The video was uploaded in late 2019 and went viral over the following months, inspiring meme edits in which the bull terrier jumps in a variety of settings.
Origin
On December 8th, 2019, Facebook[1] user David Lewis, with Catherine Figueroa Lewis, posted a video of their dog Tank taking a running jump down a flight of stairs. The video's description reads, "Y’all pray for our dog. Nothing is broken. He’s just stupid." The post gained over 505,000 shares and 130,000 reactions in five years. It was reposted by YouTuber[2] Meme Lord that day, garnering over 1.4 million views in the same span of time (shown below).
Spread
The video gained viral spread over the following months. On December 10th, 2019, Daily Mail[3] reported on it. On December 12th, Youtuber[4] Yoshert posted an edit of the video placing references to Minecraft throughout, garnering over 200,000 views in five years (shown below).
On December 29th, YouTuber[5] Papa P posted an edit of the video that gained over 130,000 views in five years (shown below, left). On December 31st, YouTuber[6] XXXAronSlayerXXX posted an edit that gained over 40,000 views in the same span of time (shown below, right).
