Dog of Wisdom is a short crude CGI video of a dog on a plane meeting with a dog on a cloud, the dog of wisdom. The haphazard nature of the video and distinctive gibberish the dogs use have spawned multiple parodies, fan-art, and mashup remixes.

Origin

The original video was uploaded on July 23, 2015 by Youtube user Joe, a.k.a. Unklejoe, who is the creator of the web animation compilation show Great: The Show.^[1] The Dog of Wisdom clip was originally part of Episode 7, but was uploaded independently as well.^[2] In a span of 4 months, the video gained over 3,700,000 views.

Spread

The day after it was uploaded, the video was posted both to /r/videos,^[3] the popular video themed subreddit, where it gained 217 points (80% upvoted), and the weird video subreddit /r/nottimanderic, where it gained 493 upvotes.^[4] That same day the video was continuously posted to Facebook by a variety of users. The following day, a Facebook page called "The same video of Dog Of Wisdom everyday" was founded, and posted the Dog of Wisdom video every day for the following 4 months; the page acquired over 42,000 followers.^[5]

In 2 months, the popular internet dubstep musician The Living Tombstone uploaded his Dog of Wisdom BLUE Remix Ft. Joe Gran. In another month, The Living Tombstone uploaded his Dog of Wisdom RED Remix Ft. Joe Gran. The videos gained 2,001,883 and 1,099,366 views, respectively (shown below).
