Donald Trump Electric Chair refers to a seemingly AI-generated animated viral video showing a shirtless likeness of U.S. President Donald Trump getting electrocuted with blue lightning bolts in an electric chair. Trump is heard screaming with a bottom caption reading, "Fry his ass," written on the original video. It was seemingly created by an internet user named Odd Man Out (oddmanout), whose watermark is seen in the top right.

The Trump Electric Chair meme spread on Twitter / X, Instagram and TikTok in 2025. Some joked about one's soul being banished to the Trump Electric Chair, similar to memes about the Khaby Lame Mechanism.

Origin

On May 19th, 2024, Imgur^[1] user EROSWASTAKEN shared a GIF of a seemingly AI-generated animation, showing U.S. President Donald Trump being electrocuted in an electric chair. He's pictured shirtless and screaming with blue lightning bolts arcing around him. The bottom caption reads, "FRY HIS ASS," and a watermark on the top right, presumed to be the GIF's creator, reads, "ODDMANOUT." The Imgur post received over 21,100 views in a year.

It is currently unknown who the watermark ODDMANOUT is referring to. A TikTok^[2] account of the same name has political artwork from the same artist, but no other trace of the user has been discovered online as of writing.

A possible inspiration for the GIF is remarks made by Trump on May 18th, 2024, at the National Rifle Association (NRA) Convention in Dallas, Texas, reading, "If President Joe Biden was a Republican, he would have been given the electric chair, they would have brought back the death penalty."^[3]

On May 30th, 2024, X^[4] user @ettingermentum posted the GIF as a video, which added a male screaming sound effect. The user captioned the video, "SOON?" and it received roughly 1.3 million views and 6,400 likes in a year.

On November 5th, X^[5] user @sylvie2099 reposted the abovementioned video, captioning it, "SOON," gaining over 17,000 likes in 11 months.

On September 8th, 2025, Instagram^[6] user @dr.diddlefish shared a cropped and lower-quality version of the video with a new male screaming sound effect added. Over one month, the Reel received roughly 129,300 likes.

On September 18th, Instagram^[7] user @real_jonkler_ reposted the abovementioned video, gaining over 63,900 likes in a month.

On September 19th, 2025, Instagram^[8] user @nogginboppers shared a video caption meme that added a top caption to the Trump Electric Chair, reading, "THIS IS NOT AI TRUMP NEEDS YOUR HELP." Over one month, the Reel received roughly 90,400 likes.

On October 21st, TikToker^[9] @trumpelectricchair shared a video meme that started with the Khaby Lame Mechanism and transitioned to the Trump Electric Chair, paired with a text overlay caption about the "Khaby Lame Mechanism gods" turning the meme's subject into the Trump Electric Chair. Over three days, the video received over 80,000 likes.
