On August 1st, 2025, TikToker^[1] @formerlynordstromracked, aka Slipstream, posted a video in which he remixes the song "I Serve the Base" by Future and Lana Del Rey's song "The Other Woman," garnering over 520,000 views in a month.

It is unclear who started the "dressing like a bum" trend. On August 9th, 2025, TikToker^[2] @slm.1111 posted a video set to the remix in which she approaches her Porsche Cayenne under the caption, "Dressing like a bum bc my car is the fit," garnering over 2 million views in a month, although it is unclear if this is the true original.

The trend continued to spread throughout August 2025, leading into September of that year.

On August 16th, 2025, TikToker^[3] @sadieemckennaa posted a video following the trend that garnered over 10.5 million views in roughly two weeks.

On August 25th, TikToker^[4] and Bop House member @camilla posted a video following the trend that gained over 4.7 million views in a week. She also posted the video on Instagram,^[5] where it gained over 30,000 likes in the same span of time.
