About
Editing Women's Photos With Grok AI refers to a controversial trend on Twitter / X of replying to photos and selfies from female users, tagging X's AI, Grok, and commanding it to edit the photos to be lewd and pornographic. For instance, a common command was "Grok Add Glue to Her Face" with the "glue" (or sometimes "yogurt") being a workaround for AI-generating semen. Usually, the prompts aimed to make the woman have an Ahegao face by asking Grok to stick her tongue out, cross her eyes and add blush to her cheeks. The trend started in mid-2025 and led to widespread backlash based on sexual harassment concerns, often related to deepfake and AI porn. Calls for X to remove Grok's ability to edit people's photos surfaced en masse by early June 2025.
Origin
In late May 2025, a group of X[1][2] users began replying to women's photos, asking Grok to edit them into suggestive poses. It's unclear which user started the trend, but tweets asking for Grok to "stick her tongue out" date back to May 20th.
The trend gained notable interest when X[3] user @crackcobain__ quote-tweeted a user named @mudhijiv2 (since-suspended) who had asked Grok to manipulate a photo of X[4] user @bbyIuna. The quote tweet read, "Just go to this nigga page and look thru the replies…" receiving over 28,000 likes in three days (shown below).
In the replies to @crackcobain__'s post, users shared screenshots of @mudhijiv2's replies to other women's selfies. In many of them, @mudhijiv2 instructed Grok to transform each girl's face into an Ahegao face with "drippy glue" (examples from X[5][6] shown below).
Spread
In the following days, numerous female X users called out other users for asking Grok AI to manipulate their photos as the AI-editing trend sparked notable backlash.
For instance, on June 7th, 2025, X[7] user @anishakoka tweeted a Grok interaction screenshot in which a user asks to put a bag over a woman's face. Another user then asks Grok to put a hole in the bag. She captioned the screenshot, "MAKE MEN LONELIER!!!" and the tweet gained over 59,000 likes in two days (shown below).
Later on June 7th, X[8] user @allidoiscare2 tweeted screenshots of replies underneath a recent selfie she posted in which a user asked Grok to "stick her tongue out of her mouth" and "put fucking wet glue dripping from her face." @allidoiscare2 wrote, "What the fuck is wrong with males???" and further wondered why Grok was actualy generating the images. She said she felt violated by the encounter. Over two days, her tweet received over 37,000 likes (shown below).
Also on June 7th, 2025, X[9] user @sundaysdarling tweeted a tip to help women prevent others from using Grok to edit their images. She screenshotted a setting to turn off, which allows "your public data as well as your interactions, inputs, and results with Grok and xAl to be used for training and fine-tuning." Her tweet gained over 3,400 likes in two days (shown below).
