Origin

On December 5th, 2023, TikToker^[1] @martty2009 posted a video of a little girl and her older brother before school, saying in the first few seconds, "I mean, can y'all hug each other? Can y'all act like y'all love each other?" The brother tries to bring his sister closer to him but she moves away. Eventually, they hug but the sister gives the camera a middle finger. Over eight months, the video received roughly 1 million plays and 192,000 likes (shown below).

Months later, on August 26th, 2024, TikToker^[2] @martty2009 posted a new video of the brother and sister before the first day of school. The girl's name is revealed to be Egypt. Again, she doesn't want to pose with her brother. The video amassed over 14.1 million plays and 2.9 million likes in three days (shown below).

On August 26th, 2024, X^[3] user @yoyotrav tweeted a screenshot from each abovementioned video, captioning them, "They back at it again. This little girl be so fed up. Lmfao." The tweet amassed over 318,000 likes in three days (shown below).

Various replies to the aforementioned tweet went viral in the following days. For instance, on August 26th, X^[4] user @_chilloutgirl tweeted a different screenshot of Egypt looking at the viewer, appearing fed up. The reply amassed over 14,000 likes in three days (shown below).

On August 28th, 2024, TikToker^[5] @moshclixps posted a photo slideshow with the screenshots from X^[3] user @yoyotrav's post, receiving over 2 million plays and 459,000 likes in a day.

Also on August 28th, TikToker^[6] @moshclixps posted a four-panel collage of Egypt and her brother throughout the years, gaining over 423,100 plays and 81,300 likes in a day (shown below).
