Elon, I Drew You, as well as the phrase You Are My Hero, Elon, refers to an infamous piece of fan art by Reddit user u/Watchieboy of Elon Musk. The piece has been widely mocked online, as well as adopted by Musk's fans and the cryptocurrency community.
Origin
On March 8th, 2019, Reddit user u/watchieboy[1] posted a drawing of Elon Musk to /r/drawing, saying, "Tried drawing Elon Musk. I'm fairly new to drawing portraits and would appreciate any advice/criticism!" The post went on to receive 81 points and 26 comments over the next five years, with many of the comments being about the lack of accurate proportions between his eyes and the rest of his head (shown below).
The first instance of the phrase "You Are My Hero, Elon" came four years later, on March 5th, 2021, when Twitter user @davfilmsx3[2] reposted the original drawing with the caption "You are my hero, Elon." The tweet gained over 220 retweets and 3,300 likes in three years (shown below).

On July 1st, 2021, Twitter user @A7imd[3] reposted the image as a reply to Elon Musk in a thread on X. This reply drew the attention of Elon Musk, who replied "It's like looking in a mirror." The post received over 14,000 likes in three years (shown below).
In the following days, on July 5th, 2021, a Twitter post by @Crypt0men with "Elon i drew you went" viral, featuring a unique clip. This post again caught the attention of Elon Musk leading to widespread sharing and engagement. It received over 27,000 likes, 2,000 retweets and more than 450 bookmarks within a year.[5]
A year later, on January 13th, 2022, the Facebook page 'Things That Are Not Aesthetic'[4] reposted the original reposting of the image by @davfilmsx3, gaining over 24,000 likes in two years (shown below).
