On November 7th, 2024, Bhad Bhabie, real name Danielle Bregoli, posted an Instagram story revealing she had been diagnosed with cancer, and the medication she was taking caused her to dramatically lose weight.^[1] As of November 13th, 2024, it is unknown what type of cancer Bregoli has.

The news led to an outpouring of support for Bregoli. A November 8th, 2024 post about her Instagram story in /r/popculturechat^[5] gained over 5,200 points in five days. It was reported on the same day by Entertainment Tonight.

After Bregoli's announcement, there was some speculation that Bregoli may not have been telling the truth. TMZ^[2] initially reported that it could not confirm whether Bregoli had cancer. Later, it updated its article saying a "source close to" the rapper confirmed that she has cancer and is under a doctor's care.

On November 8th, 2024, Perez Hilton^[3] voiced suspicion that Bregoli was lying about having cancer. This led Bhad Bhabie's mother, Barbara Bregoli, to fire back at Hilton in an Instagram video and appear to confirm that her daughter had cancer.^[4]
