Donald Trump Jr.'s "Satan Quoting The Scriptures" refers to a tweet in which Donald Trump Jr. claims that the "likelihood of Nancy Pelosi praying for Trump is about the same as the likelihood of Satan running around quoting the Scriptures." The tweet sparked a slew of corrections and mocking online due to the fact that satan constantly quotes scripture in the bible. The conversation led to "Satan" trending on Twitter in February 2020.

On February 6th, 2020, Donald Trump Jr. tweeted a video of his father at the national prayer breakfast with the caption, "Likelihood of Nancy Pelosi praying for Trump is about the same as the likelihood of Satan running around quoting the Scriptures" (shown below). The tweet garnered over 41,200 likes and 9,700 retweets in a day.

On February 6th, 2020, Republican commentator Ana Navarro-Cárdenas^[1] retweeted Trump Jr. and stated, "Read The Bible. Satan did quote the Scriptures. So does your dad…" (shown below, left). The tweet received over 43,000 likes and 7,200 retweets in a day. That same day, Twitter user @wilsonhartgrove^[2] tweeted, "Once you realize that Satan quotes Scripture from the minute he shows up in the gospels, you understand why Jesus reserves his strongest words for religious leaders who quote Scripture to lead God’s people astray" (shown below, right). The tweet gained over 16,500 likes and 3,700 retweets in a day.

That same day, Twitter users began commenting about Satan trending on Twitter. Twitter user @Randoxide^[3] posted Satan fanart with the caption, "So Satan is trending,,," (shown below).
