Overview

Israelis Mocking Palestinians On TikTok Controversy refers to multiple viral videos that circulated amidst the October 2023 Israel-Hamas Conflict in which purported Israeli TikTokers mock Palestinians, often utilizing racist caricatures and bragging about continuing to have power and running water, which were cut off to Palestinians in the Gaza Strip by Israel amid the conflict.

Background

One of the earliest videos of a purported Israeli woman mocking Palestinians was posted by TikToker @eve_makeup.artist in mid-October 2023. She has since gone private on social media, but the video was reposted to X / Twitter by user @arabshawty[1] on October 19th, 2023. The video features the woman applying makeup to look like a Palestinian who has been attacked and is covered in dirt and rubble. The repost by @arabshawty notably featured a direct invitation to harass the creator.

Developments

Over the following days, several other TikToks mocking Palestinians were posted from purported Israeli accounts that have since gone private, though some of the videos were reposted to Twitter prior to them becoming inaccessible.

One widely reposted video came from Twitter user @CensoredMen[3] on October 26th, 2023, which showcased a compilation of TikToks in which Israeli posters appeared to mock Palestinians via racist caricatures. The tweet gained over 45,000 retweets and 55,000 likes in less than 24 hours (shown below, top). On October 26th, user @QudsNen[2] reposted a TikTok from @danaraz.makeup that featured her flaunting basic utilities that were largely unavailable in Gaza amid the conflict, like running water and electricity (shown below, bottom).

On TikTok, several of the videos were harshly criticized by users. For example, on October 25th, TikToker @palestinianpr1ncess posted a criticism of one such video by @Haim_Elbaz, gaining over 21,000 likes in one day (shown below, left). User @dannyphantom113 did the same, gaining over 28,000 likes in one day (shown below, right).

This is the tiniest microcosm of the intense racial hatred these two groups feel for each other. I guess we're just gonna keep flipping our outrage any time a Palestine supporter says something anti-semetic, or an Israeli says something islamophobic.

It's much easier to constantly flip between supporting Eurasia and Eastasia, than it is to have a little bit of understanding for people who are angry because their friends and family are being butchered in a conflict older than Julius Caesar.

Either that, or just dig your feet in and call me a "both sides"er or something equally retarded. Whatever makes you feel better about yourself.
