#krebsiscancer or KrebsistScheiße is a campaign launched by users of the german imageboard pr0gramm as a protest against journalist Brian Krebs for his article in which the site-owners where doxxed for alleged connections to coinhive and for bad investigation and many lies about their site. After initial thoughts of taking revenge, the site users did decide to perform donations in masses towards german cancer foundations, Die Deutsche Krebshilfe^[1] and DKMS^[2] in particular.
The Campaign derives from the fact that the Surname, Krebs, is the German word for Cancer.

Origin

The Donation Wave was launched by Siteuser Xari^[3] and quickly gained traction, after Siteadmin Gamb^[4] published a statement about the article recently published.

Notable Developments

The Servers of the Foundations were quickly fully occupied and had several breakdowns.
After one day, the Deutsche Krebshilfe alone had already amassed around 103.000 € of donations by 4100 users.^[5]
