Gandalf Big Naturals refers to a photoshop of Gandalf the White (played by Ian McKellen) from Lord of the Rings with big naturals. The photo went viral after it was advertised on a T-shirt by the print shop Raw Paw and spread on social media as a Thanks, I Hate It image, inspiring other variations, memes and fan art of Gandalf depicted with large breasts.

Origin

The earliest known post of "Gandalf Big Naturals" was made by Tumblr user gay-pippin^[5] on December 30th, 2021, and they posted three examples of the meme. The post gained over 47,000 likes in nearly three years.

On April 11th, 2022, the Instagram account for print shop Raw Paw^[1] posted a design dubbed "Gandalf Big Naturals, a photoshopped image of Gandalf the White with large breasts created by @becca.teeth." The post gained over 2,200 likes in eight months (shown below).

Spread

The image became particularly popularized on Tumblr where it inspired further photoshops and drawings of Gandalf with large breasts. On November 6th, 2022, Tumblr user curioscurio^[2] posted several more photoshops, gaining over 7,300 notes in just over a month (examples shown below).

On November 18th, 2022, Becca.teeth^[3] posted that she was grateful that she had inspired so many with their idea of "Gandalf with huge breasts" (shown below). The website Autostraddle^[4] then interviewed them shortly after.
