About

Taylor Hawkins's Son's Tribute refers to a live performance in September 2022 of the band Foo Fighters with Oliver Shane, son of the late Taylor Hawkins, during their tribute show over the weekend, to honor and celebrate the life of his father. The video was widely spread by fans of the band on social media, especially on TikTok.

Origin

On September 5th, 2022, the 16-year-old, Oliver Shane, joined Foo Fighters[1] in a six-hour tribute concert[2] for a rendition of the band's 1997 classic hit song My Hero[3]. The teen played the drums, and the crowd was loudly cheering him on as he performed. The performance was recorded and shared by MTV on their YouTube[5] account, reaching 7 million views in four days.

It was the first time the band played together since Taylor Hawkins's death[4] on March 25th, 2022, hours before the band was starting their world tour concerts.
