The video memes started on Instagram Reels and TikTok in September and October 2025. The trend stemmed from a series of ironic Sigma Male edits with phonk music, which started in June 2025.

On June 25th, 2025, TikTokers^[2]^[3] @abangtukangbaksosolo and @rip.wenisv7 each posted ironic Sigma Male video edits, using phonk music and showing Albert Einstein in front of a recording of the iOS calculator app, gaining over 19,100 likes and 28,600 likes, respectively, over four months.

Notably, TikToker^[3] @rip.wenisv7's video included a text overlay caption that read, "Whathellyante is this diddy mustard blud doing?"

On August 24th, Instagram^[1] user @sigmaspidermemes shared a video edit that roughly followed the same format, but also included a seemingly AI-generated song with the lyrics, "What is Diddy Blud doing? Does he think he is Einstein?" Over two months, the video received roughly 16,700 likes.

On September 17th, TikToker^[5] @ghonostel shared an iteration of the meme that ended with a 67 reference. Over one month, the video gained roughly 31,400 likes.
