According to TMZ, Lanez, who is serving a 10-year sentence for the 2020 shooting of Megan Thee Stallion, was stabbed 14 times and rushed to a local medical facility for further treatment. On May 12th, 2025, Tory Lanez's team posted a statement on Instagram[1] saying the rapper was stabbed 14 times, including "7 wounds in the back, 4 on his torso, 2 to the back of his head, and 1 to the left side of his face." Lanez's statement amassed more than 626,000 likes in a day.
A representative for the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation confirmed to TMZ[2] the rapper was attacked by "another prisoner in a housing unit at California Correctional Institution (CCI) in Tehachapi around 7:20 this morning."
According to the BBC,[5] an investigation is underway into the stabbing and "prison staff began first aid before Lanez was taken to a local medical facility for further treatment."
