Zion Williamson and Pornstar Moriah Mills Controversy refers to NBA player Zion Williamson allegedly having sexual interactions with pornstar Moriah Mills, which were revealed to the public by Mills on Twitter directly following Williamson's June 2023 announcement that his girlfriend Ahkeema was pregnant with a baby girl. Mills tweeted multiple pictures of Snapchat messages purportedly between her and Williamson. The drama surrounding the situation led to memes and discourse across social media, mostly making fun of Williamson by likening him to a porn addict. An axiom about Williamson also developed related to him loving pornstars. Many of the memes also isolated Willaimson's outfits and fashion choices, identifying them as ugly or bad and using them to justify why the pornstars, and other women, seemingly pursued Williamson for a baby and his money, likening the women to "gold diggers."

Background

On June 6th, 2023, Zion Williamson's girlfriend Ahkeema posted videos to her Instagram^[1][2][3] and YouTube^[4] accounts that showed footage of her and Williamson's gender reveal party for their baby girl. The YouTube^[4] video gained roughly 135,200 views in two days (shown below). News outlets like TMZ^[5] and the New York Post^[6] reported that it was unclear how Williamson and Ahkeema met as their relationship was never announced prior to the gender reveal.

Following the reveal and its news coverage, pornstar Moriah Mills posted multiple tweets^[7][8][9] on June 6th and June 7th that attached photos of Snapchat messages purportedly between her and Williamson in which he was seemingly paying for her rent, lying to her about not having a girlfriend and sexting her in tow (examples shown below). On June 7th, she also specifically tweeted,^[9] "Better pray I’m not pregnant too because I’m definitely late @Zionwilliamson," gaining roughly 4,400 likes in one day.

Mills also claimed in her tweets that Williamson's baby mama Ahkeema used to be a stripper, calling her a "a low budget pornstar." Outlets like Fadeaway World^[10] also purported that Ahkeema was a former stripper, and also reported on an old viral video allegedly showing her beating up another woman.

The tweets from Mills led to a slew of reactions and memes on June 6th and June 7th, 2023. For instance, on June 7th, Twitter^[11] user @oprahsideclark tweeted a video with the caption, "Moriah Mills watching Zion Williamson get a stripper pregnant and not her," gaining roughly 14,600 likes in one day (shown below).

Others on Twitter made jokes about Williamson enjoying porn and using his platform to have sex with pornstars. For instance, on June 7th, 2023, Twitter^[12] user @ReggiSaxx called Williamson a "coomer" in a tweet that received roughly 10,600 likes in one day (shown below, left).

Others surfaced courtside outfits of Williamson, using them to justify why women were supposedly trying to become his baby mama. For instance, on June 7th, Twitter^[13] user @ReturnOfTheTev posted a quote retweet of Williamson in an anime outfit, gaining roughly 23,800 likes in one day (shown below, right).

Other reactions and memes about Williamson's controversy surfaced on TikTok,^[15] among other platforms like Reddit,^[16] in June 2023.

Moriah Mills Threatens Sex Tape Leak

On June 19th, 2023, Moriah Mills tweeted,^[17] "NBA I have sex tapes of me and @Zionwilliamson," continued, "Sex tapes dropping soon," gaining roughly 5,500 likes in less than a day (shown below). Mills posted multiple tweets^[18][19] thereafter on June 19th, threatening Williamson and the New Orleans Pelicans organization in tow.

Various reactions to Mills' June 19th tweets subsequently surfaced on the app. For instance, Twitter^[20] user @SharpSportsLLC tweeted a reply to Mills, saying, "This is borderline extortion…but go off sis," gaining roughly 6,000 likes in less than a day (shown below, left). Others, like Twitter^[21] user @frontpagejay_, proclaimed that Mills was allegedly violating "revenge porn laws" (shown below, right).

Others on Twitter^[22] discussed Louisiana's "revenge porn" laws in conjunction with the situation. In the state of Louisiana, "revenge porn" is illegal and "Those convicted under Louisiana’s revenge porn law face fines of up to $10,000 as well as imprisonment in a state penitentiary for up to ten years," according to Bloom Legal.^[23]
