Favorite Candy, Reese's Pieces or Them Lifesaver Gummies refers to a viral TikTok video from TikToker Midget Mafia OG (@midgetmafiaog) in which he responds to a user comment asking about what his favorite candy is, to which he replies, "Reece's Pieces (Rhesus Pieces, Reesy Peesys, Reecey's Pieceys, Reesey's Peesies, Recey Peceys) or them Lifesaver gummies," further stating that he would eat a whole bag of them. The TikTok became a notable sound on the platform after it was posted in September 2022 and used in lip-dub skits.

Origin

On September 16th, 2022, TikToker^[1] midgetmafiaog posted a video in which he responded to a user comment that asked, "what's your favorite candy and chips," to which he replied, "Favorite candy, um, Reece's Pieces or them Lifesaver gummies. You give me a bag of them, they're gone." When saying "Reece's Pieces," however, midgetmafiaog pronounced it as "Reesey Peeseys," which prompted most of the memetic discourse that followed. Over the course of ten days, the TikTok received roughly 12.4 million plays and 1.4 million likes (shown below).

Spread

On September 20th, 2022, TikToker^[2] drippy_fuels was the first to use midgetmafiaog's sound for a shitpost compilation that received roughly 921,700 plays and 145,000 likes in six days (shown below, left). On September 22nd, 2022, TikToker^[3] levigarciaa lip-dubbed the sound with a Sing-a-ma-jig toy, gaining roughly 2.7 million plays and 457,100 likes in four days (shown below, right).

The "Favorite Candy" sound soon spread outside of the original TikTok. For example, on September 21st, 2022, TikToker^[4] lukeis_trash_ uploaded a slowed version of the sound called, "Recey pecey slowed," gaining roughly 250,100 plays and 19,600 likes for the TikTok video in five days (shown below, left). On September 25th, 2022, TikToker^[5] itsjustaqwerty used a slowed version of the sound for a shitpost zoom-out video that started with the image macro of a Staring Eagle, gaining roughly 74,500 plays and 9,300 likes in one day (shown below, right).
