Fousey N-Word Slip refers to a viral video of Twitch steamer and YouTuber Fousey saying the N-word while rapping along to J. Cole's song "Love Yourz" during a live broadcast in early August 2023. Fousey's immediate reaction, during which he closed his mouth with his hand and proceeded to beat his bed with his fists before apologizing, went viral on social media shortly after, with users adding humorous captions to it.

Origin

On August 1st, 2023, during a Twitch livestream, streamer Fousey (FouseyTube) said the N-word while rapping along to J. Cole's song "Love Yourz." Fousey, immediately aware of his mistake, covered his mouth, walked over to the side of his bed and started beating it with his fist and screaming in rage, then walking back to the camera and apologizing profusely.

On the same day, Twitter^[1] account DramaAlert uploaded a clip from the livestream, with the upload gaining over 4,500 retweets, 12,300 quote tweets and 90,400 likes in the website in two days (shown below).

The video prompted viral posts on Twitter in which users discussed Fousey's instant reaction and made jokes about it. For example, on August 1st, 2023, Twitter^[2] user @WeLoveYouZahir made a tweet about Fousey instantly crafting his apology that received over 4,900 retweets and 104,800 likes in three days (shown below).

Also that day, tweleb Corn made a tweet^[3] in which he made fun of Fousey for assaulting his bed, with the post gaining over 5,200 retweets and 112,000 likes in three days.

In the following days, the video achieved virality as a video caption meme format on Twitter as users quote tweeted it with humorous captions about accidental slips and cursing. For example, on August 3rd, 2023, Twitter^[4] user @LRH_Superfan captioned the video, "Me after calling the teacher 'mommy' in second grade" (shown below). The tweet received over 720 retweets and 9,900 likes in one day.
